Win a custom Wordpress template/theme
For our first article on Extendis Blog we would like to offer you one custom Wordpress template for free. Because one of our services is the creation of custom Wordpress themes it is appropriate to offer one template (or theme if you like) free of charge. To participate in this “contest” of ours you should just post a comment on this post and ask for the template. The winner will be decided by the votes of the viewers here at Extendis Blog so it would be best if you could write a line or two on what do you do and why do you need a template.
The contest is open until Friday, September 21st when the comment with a word “CLOSED” will appear in the comment list. After that all the visitors can vote for their favorite until the Friday, September 28th.
If there will be no comments on the first post there will be no free template (naturally), and if there will be no votes we will choose a winner.
The prize
The prize will be a custom Wordpress template (PSD, sliced & valid XHTML/CSS) and a template for the homepage, single page and article page.
What is this blog about?
Now when we explained the contest, it is time to write a few lines on what will you find on this blog. First of all this blog is about XHTML, CSS and design in general. Mostly, we will write about articles about what we do and how we do it (tutorials, technical articles etc.) in the areas of web design, graphic design, visual identity, logos, new media services, Wordpress.
You won’t find a new article every week, but we will try to post an article on the month basis. We ask all of our visitors to write us with their questions and we would try to answer them within our boundaries.

Hi,
We need a template for our new blog (Business Book Club) which we would like to turn into a popular place where all publishers of politics/business/social books will be able to announce their new books and to put free excerpts from them.
The website will be similar to this one - http://800ceoread.com/excerpts/ , however, we will strive to stimulate much bigger involvement from our readers – we plan to have comments sections, monthly raffles with free books prices, subscribers discounts, offline networking meetings, fans T-shirts, etc.

I’ve just started a site on my country house in Portugal. I expect in the future to make this house my only house (or at least my main house) and would like this site to be the basis of a blog (news about the house and what we do around it), a forum (for friends to leave messages), a photo gallery, etc.
Thanks,
jb
P.S.: I’ve watched the video you made available. Just one minor comment: the ‘we’ just keeps popping into the viewer’s eyes… I felt that a bit too… narcisistic?
Karsh commented:
I’m a blogger and podcaster, and I put on an annual Internet awards event (the Black Weblog Awards) and I”m working to bring a technical conference for minorities to Atlanta, GA. I really need a template for my personal site since it’s suffered the most in terms of updates and care since I’ve been taking on my other two projects. I have a design and color scheme in mind, but I can’t find the time to sit down and hash it out.
Emanuel Blagonic commented:
Jose, we don’t think that the video is narcissistic. We just wanted to let everybody know what we can do - period. We didn’t say that we are the best and we don’t think that (not even in our dreams :), but we try to be different.

I am a 13 year old, so I can’t buy my own webtemplate, and I am not that great at webdesign. Also, I need the template for a photography site, pictures that I took while I was in China.
Bruno Sousa commented:
I was browsing Emanuel Blagonic site wen I saw you were offering a custom template, I have this music blog Indie Waves that needs to get out of blogger and into Wordpress, and a unique theme would be a great start!!
Thanks

Hello :) I just came across your website through www.stylegala.com (the news-section), and saw this post. I’m really interested in a custom WP-theme! I’ve been tingling with a layout myself, but I can’t implement it in WordPress itself.
Are we going to see a little post with an image/link of the winner’s template?
Good luck to all! :)
p.s.: The reason why I would love a custom template is because most of the free ones are not really my taste. I’ve been trying to make one myself, but even though I did make a couple of Photoshop designs, I don’t quite have the knowledge to implement it in Wordpress.
Emanuel Blagonic commented:
To answer Joram. After the contest is over (next Friday), everyone is asked to post a vote for their favorite. The voting will be done via comments.
After all your votes are counted we will proclaim the winner. When the template/theme will be finished, we will write an article about what we did and the link to the winners site will be provided as well (with the screenshot in the article).

I’m trying to start a collaborative blog called It Makes Your Nose Tickle. Our goal is to create a blog in the same heart as BoingBoing.net, posting and providing commentary on overall news and curiosities from throughout the web. Topics would include the Internet, Technology, Gadgets, Music, Art, Sports, Politics… pretty much anything that interests us that we feel would also interest our peers. Authors would include myself and my sister (who’s college radio show of the same name inspired the blog idea), along with a pool of our friends with varying opinions and specialties.
I’m a front-end web designer and would love to design my own theme but I simply do not have the time to do so. Also, I am not yet that familiar with the back-end business of the Wordpress system. I have tested out a slew of pre-existing Wordpress themes, and have even ventured into customizing said themes, but I have not found one that satisfies me 100%. A custom theme from Extendis would jump-start our blog and send us off into the stratosphere!
Thanks! And thanks to everyone who votes!

Sounds like a great idea. Yes, I’d love a custom wordpress theme. I’d use it for a new independent record label that I’m putting together with a group of musicians.
I’ve left a link to one of our bands in the URL field, there’s a free EP to download if you want to have a listen to the music to hear the sort of thing your wordpress theme will be helping.
Thanks for the opportunity, I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

This is absolutely fantastic that you are offering a free customized wordpress template to kick things off!
Due to my lack in funds I cannot purchase a customized template (story of our lives right?). I could really use one because I have a lot of free time at work sometimes. With that free time I like to write runonsentences with bad grammar. I would fill my blog with plenty of ramblings that would attract others who have lots of free time and enjoy runonsentences and bad grammar.

I did not have much programming education in university, therefore I cannot totally transform my ideas into a good web site development.
My ideal blog is a business resource platform for young generation (or may be those Web 2.0 geeks with technical but lack of business knowledge) to start their business in a better approach. I will develop the necessary start-up tools and content in accordance with the steps of starting business, from ideas to management. The guide book is also a good reference to different resources searching.
Now the existing themes are not sufficiently fit for all the purposes that I would like to explore. Please help me in customizing a good theme, thanks!

After hours of searching google for good wordpress theme designers I came across your offer of a free template to kick off your business. As with our new site we are new to the marketplace yet our staff has years of experience in the market we are serving.
www.emergencyequipmentnews.com needs a new look and is now serving 1000’s of hits a month from the Fire, Police and Public Service personal that read and subscribe to the site.
We try to give a new look at the best new products that can be offered to the public service world to make the incredibly important job they do easier. Plus we showcase and review new products to get them launched across the world market.
At this point we need the new design to better showcase the products we post and to add more inteactive functionality for the people that use the site. I run the site fromt he road and it is curentaly using a theme with some basic tweaks. We need a new fresh design to incorporate our new logo and better mesh our theme with our marketplace plus better market our logo to get our brand noticed by more end users.
We did the site becase there are limited numbers of free sites that provide real, non advertising driven reviews and information based on real staff knowledge and not how much is paid for the advertising space.
We are here to set the highest mark possible for our niche marketplace.
A nice clean interactive theme with proper use of plugins and widgets would give both your and our company great exposure across a world of public service workers and companies that supply them.
Thanks for the offer of a free template design… and great designs so far for your new company.

I’m a 36 year old Mental Health Therapist & Behavior Specialist. I was born in Vietnam but immigrated with my family to the U.S. in 1980 in one of the largest mass exodus of people by boat in history (called “boat people”).
My website, BeyondBehaviors.Com, is about Mental Health, Psychotherapy, Crisis Intervention, Traumatic Stress, Classroom Management, and School Crisis Response.
As a Vietnamese-American Mental Health Therapist, I am trying to cover issues dealing with Asian-American mental health - an issue that has been neglected for far too long.
We often see Asians as the “model minority” but seldom do we shed light on their plight as human beings who struggle financially, socially, and psychologically.
I am planning to use my BeyondBehaviors.Com website to fill that need. My hope is that the more people know about the site, the better the opportunity to educate and advocate for Asian-American mental health.
I found the Wordpress template (the one I’m currently using) by luck. Butt if I’m lucky enough to win your heart & votes, I truly believe that your custom WP template (one that is beautifully and carefully coded from the inside out & SEO) will help people find my site and (with it’s great design & my writing) will stick around to learn more about mental illness and mental health.
My overall goal is simple: to let the world know that the perfect minority isn’t perfect, that we suffer just like everyone else even when we don’t speak up.
I think my “content” is good, but the site needs a fresh, exciting, captivating look and one that is optimized for the search engines. Please help me share with others about mental health and especially about Asian mental health.
I will pray and keep my fingers crossed (for good luck)! =)

We don’t have a sob story, and probably aren’t making the world a much better place with our efforts, (nor or we a “commercial” site. But our little port in the Cyber Storm has grown a bit unwieldy as it has been cobbled together with pitch and tar over the years and is a nightmare to maintain.
I have just started my own efforts at CSS which you can put your Spyglass Here to see the latest efforts, but sadly, beyond the first page of billowing sails, is mostly cracked masts and rotted hull (just follow any of the links to see).
So for us, a free template is better than plunder or scraping and scrubbing our ship with holy stone and sand. It would allow us to careen and refit the ship proper! All me salty sea dog mates and even the occasional lubber that pipes aboard would be greatly appreciatin’.
